The recidivism rates are one of the most frequently raised yet misunderstood (or misrepresented) Guantanamo-related issues. The statistics in these infographics come from the Director of National Intelligence’s most recent report on reengagement of former Guantanamo detainees, which was released in March 2016.

Post 2009 (Obama): 4.8% - 7 out of 144

Pre 2009 (Bush): 20.9% - 111 out of 532

Obama: 5.9%
Bush: 94.1%
