It feels like we are trapped in a huge prison and we are not allowed to even have visitors!

I am an Iranian PhD student in Electrical Engineering and I had very tough time with these bans. Before the first travel ban, I bought my ticket to go back to Iran and visit my family after 2 years. But, suddenly the first ban came out and I had to cancel my trip, because in the first ban, even students on F visas were not exempt from the ban. I lost a lot of money for my embassy appointment and my flight and there were all nonrefundable.

Recently, my parents decided to visit the US on B2 visas. They went to the US embassy in Yerevan on November and got the approval for their visas immediately. But, they did not got their visas issued in their passports yet. Now, as a result of the third ban going on, the process of visa issuance is stopped and my parents and I are too worried.

We have not seen each other for three years and I have no family in the United States. It feels like we are trapped in a huge prison and we are not allowed to even have visitors! I am still hopeful that the two ongoing courts make the right decision and stop this ban.
