In this letter to Attorney General Barr, the ACLU and ACLU of Oregon called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate, and if warranted, prosecute any federal criminal violations of protesters’, journalists’, and others’ constitutional rights in the federal response to ongoing protests in Portland, Oregon, and throughout the country.
