ACLU Letter on Amendments to HR 2740

The ACLU sent this letter urging members of the House of Representatives to vote against three amendments to H.R. 2740, a package of legislation to fund the government for Fiscal Year 2020. The proposed amendments would eliminate important provisions in the underlying bill that:

-Block implementation and enforcement of a dangerous and discriminatory final rule issued in May by the Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to enable refusals of health care.

-Prohibit implementation of the Trump Administration’s March 2019 final rule on the Title X family planning program

-End the dangerous global gag rule.
