ACLU Letter to DOJ Regarding Right of Assembly, Militarization at Standing Rock

The ACLU sent this letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Acting Assistant AG Tom Wheeler, requesting that the Department of Justice send federal observers to North Dakota to protect the rights of those peacefully assembled around the Dakota Access Pipeline. The letter also requests that DOJ investigate possible violations of federal laws and the Constitution as a result of law enforcement responses to those organizing near the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Reservation.
