Coalition Comments to Sentencing Commission on Alternatives to Incarceration

The ACLU joined The Sentencing Project, Human Rights Watch, Gamaliel, and retired Judge Nancy Gertner in comments to the U.S. Sentencing Commission, applauding its consideration of an amendment to increase the availability of sentences of alternatives to incarceration within the federal sentencing guidelines. The comments address some of the specific issues for comment on the proposed amendment, ‘First Offenders/Alternatives to Incarceration.’
