This coalition letter, signed by the ACLU, opposes a provision in the House Labor, Health, Human Services, and Education Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2017 which would bar the Department of Education (ED) from using funds to implement joint guidance by ED and the Justice Department that provides clarity to schools regarding their obligations under Title IX to transgender students.
