As co-chair of the Leadership Conference’s Media/Telecommunications Task Force, the ACLU joined this February 11 letter to FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn in response to the publication and request for input on her Solutions 2020 Call to Action Plan. Commissioner Clyburn released the plan December, offering an agenda to address challenges in the communications sector, including affordability, digital inclusion, and broadband-enabled healthcare. The Task Force comments recommended a series of actions on media diversity and competition, the FCC’s Lifeline program, prison communications, unlicensed spectrum, consumer protection, and disability and tribal affairs.
