Prosecutors will no longer seek the death penalty against Mumia Abu Jamal, who was convicted of murder and sentenced to death despite serious concerns over racial bias and doubts about the case against him. The ACLU Capital Punishment Project has long worked for abolition of the death penalty, which is tainted by racial discrimination and inequality.
