LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The nominating committee of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky is pleased to welcome ten individuals to new and renewing terms on the Board of Directors. Nine candidates were elected by the membership, who had the option to cast their votes by mail or in person at our Annual Meeting on April 25th. One recess appointment was also made to fill a recently vacated seat.
The new and renewing Board of Directors are:
Sebastian Barr, Louisville, New Director
Khalilah Collins, Louisville, Renewing Director
Cherie Dawson-Edwards, Renewing Director – Immediate Past President
Andrew Downey, Louisville, New Director
Keith Look, Louisville, Renewing Director
Jonathan Lowe, Louisville, New Director
Peggy Pittman-Munke, Murray, New Director
Emi Ramirez, Louisville, Renewing Director
Don Rodgers, Louisville, New Director
Enid Trucios-Haynes, Renewing Director – Incoming President
ACLU of Kentucky Executive Director Michael Aldridge thanked departing Board Directors and welcomed the new leaders. “Serving on the board of a non-profit like the ACLU of Kentucky requires dedication, time, and a commitment to protecting civil liberties.” Aldridge added, “It is always exciting to welcome new members to the board, who bring with them a fresh perspective and enthusiasm for the work ahead. I know that their service will provide tremendous benefits to the board and organization as a whole.”
The 2013 Board of Directors will be installed May 23rd. Their terms will last until the spring of 2016.
