ACLU OF HAWAII WELCOMES NEW SENIOR STAFF ATTORNEY DANIEL M. GLUCK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HONOLULU — The ACLU of Hawaii is pleased to announce that it has selected Daniel M. Gluck as its new Senior Staff Attorney. Gluck joins the ACLU of Hawaii legal team, which is currently staffed by Lois Perrin, Legal Director, and Laurie A. Temple, Staff Attorney.
Gluck was raised in Buffalo, New York, and received his B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 2003, where he served in numerous capacities to assist indigent and underserved communities. Following law school, Gluck served as a law clerk to the Honorable James Duffy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Hawaii, and to the Honorable J. Michael Seabright, United States District Judge for the District of Hawaii. Immediately prior to joining the ACLU of Hawaii, Gluck was an associate with the Honolulu office of Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing.
“The ACLU of Hawaii has an extraordinary record of defending our constitutional rights, and I am honored to join such a talented and committed group of individuals,” said Gluck. “I look forward to expanding the ACLU caseload to take on more of the issues that so deeply affect the most personal aspects of our lives.”
Legal Director, Lois Perrin, cited Gluck’s dedication to civil liberties as one of the main reasons for the ACLU of Hawaii’s selection. “The search committee was extremely impressed by Dan’s skill set, his dedicated commitment to public interest and his engaging personality. We are delighted to have him on board.”
“The hiring of a senior staff attorney signals another significant period of growth for our affiliate,” added Vanessa Chong, Executive Director. “The size of the in-house legal staff has grown to three attorneys in the past year. The ACLU will assertively further its mission as the State’s leading champion for civil rights and civil liberties.”
