The following statement regarding today’s momentous rally to oppose discriminatory SJR 39 is attributable to ACLU of Missouri Executive Director Jeffrey Mittman:
Today Missourians from every corner of our state stood together to protect our LGBT family and friends from harmful discrimination. The rally at the Capitol in Jefferson City was a loud and clear message to our Representatives that SJR 39 hurts Missouri families, is bad for business and out of line with our state’s values.
The ACLU, PROMO, business leaders and a broad coalition of community leaders and voters hope our lawmakers are listening.
SJR39 is all about discrimination. Discrimination is wrong. We stand united and committed to fighting this bill every step of the way.
