NEW YORK – In commemoration of the twelfth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Executive Director Anthony D. Romero issued the following statement:

“Twelve years later, we remember the horrific events of September 11, 2001. We remember the victims and their families. As a nation we know that we can remain true to the principles that define us as Americans—fairness, justice and equality. We will continue our work to protect freedom and the values that are the bedrock of our strength and our country.”
