ACLU of Texas Attorney Named One of “HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40”
HOUSTON — Last week, The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) announced its selection of ACLU of Texas senior staff attorney Edgar Saldivar as one of the recipients of its prestigious “HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40” Award. In its release, HNBA praised Saldivar for his work defending civil liberties, educating vulnerable communities about their constitutional rights and for his work in the private sector.
“I’m thrilled to see Edgar earn this well-deserved recognition for the hard and important work he’s doing to defend Texans’ constitutional rights,” said Rebecca Robertson, legal and policy director of the ACLU of Texas. “As we move forward under an administration that sees the Constitution as an inconvenience where immigrants, refugees and undocumented Americans are concerned, the efforts of Edgar and attorneys like him will be more important than ever. We, the HNBA and the people of Texas are lucky to have him. ”
