In response to concerns raised by the ACLU of Northern California and other civil liberties and human rights groups, San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr announced that local police assigned to the FBI’s JJTF will now be subject to stricter local policies when carrying out JTTF investigations, in an effort to better protect civil rights. It is unclear whether the FBI will agree to the new arrangement.
