***MEDIA ADVISORY***

SUNDAY: ACLU, UWD, MoveOn, Advocates to Launch New Campaign Pressuring Trump to Protect Immigrant Youth

WHAT:
The American Civil Liberties Union, United We Dream, MoveOn.org, advocates and young immigrants at risk of deportation will launch a new campaign to demand Trump take action to protect immigrant youth.

Since Trump rescinded the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in September, he has sabotaged efforts in Congress to pass legislation to protect millions of young immigrants so they can continue the lives they’ve built in the United States

The groups will hold an event to launch the campaign on the eve of Trump’s arbitrary deadline. The event will premiere the ad targeting Trump using his own words against him, feature large banners with Trump’s face, and a countdown clock to March 5th.

The campaign will include paid advertising, social media tactics, and grassroots pressure on the ground to demand Trump stop the attacks on our community and support Congress to pass a permanent legislative solution that protects immigrant youth from deportation.

Anthony Romero, Executive Director, American Civil Liberties Union
Lorella Praeli, Director of Immigration Policy and Campaigns, ACLU
