Welcome to the online registration site for the 2013 Biennial Leadership Conference!
On behalf of the National Office, Board of Directors and the Biennial Leadership Conference Planning Committee, we are pleased to announce the 2013 Biennial Leadership Conference.
The purpose of the conference is to bring together affiliate leadership to share the best practices, engage in discussions of emerging trends and issues- both substantive and organizational- to do a bit of skills building, and learn from one another as well as outside experts, and of course, have some fun!
This event will take place in Detroit, Michigan at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel. Please read the following information carefully for specific information related to hotel reservations and registration options. We hope to see you there!
The conference begins early on the morning of Sunday June 9, 2013 and concludes mid-afternoon on Monday June 10th. All conference attendees are invited and encouraged to attend the awards gala dinner on Saturday evening, June 8th as conference guests. This event is included with conference registration. The 2013 Roger N. Baldwin Medal of Liberty award recipient is the organization, United We Dream, and Georgetown University Law Center professor David Cole is the recipient of the inaugural Dorsen Presidential Prize.

Registration for this event is $230 for all attendees and includes all materials as well as scheduled conference meals: the awards gala as mentioned above, Sunday and Monday breakfast and lunch, with dinner on your own, or with friends new and old, after a light reception Sunday evening. Your registration fee does not include your hotel room.

NEW FEATURE! Affiliate offices paying by credit card for attendees can now submit one payment for multiple registrations! Each attendee must still be registered separately, but use the link provided above and in the confirmation email to pay by credit card for one or more people.

This event will take place at the Westin Book Cadillac in downtown Detroit, Michigan.
Hotel reservation cut-off is May 17, 2013!!
Affiliate Leaders: You are responsible for reserving your own hotel rooms. For call-in hotel reservations contact the Westin Book Cadillac at 888-627-7150, or reserve your room online via the link above. Our group is listed as the ACLU Biennial Leadership Conference. Please identify yourself as part of our group to take advantage of the special rate we have negotiated, which is $129 per night, single or double occupancy, plus 15% city state and local hospitality taxes, or $148.35 inclusive. The hotel is providing complimentary internet and bottled water in all guest rooms, and complimentary access to the fitness center. Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is 12:00pm. Early check-in depends on occupancy and availability of ready rooms. For late check-outs, inquire at the front desk on the day of departure. Please be advised that there is an early departure fee of $75.00 for guests checking out prior to the check-out date confirmed upon check in.
National Staff Members and guests attending the board meeting and/or the Leadership Conference: Your hotel reservation will be made for you. Please do not make your own reservation. Doing so may cause duplicate records and unnecessary expense to your department. Simply indicate your arrival and departure dates on the registration form , indicate if you’d like a single or double room and list any special requests in the Special Needs section. You will be able to confirm your reservation directly after May 17th by calling the Westin directly at 1-888-627-7150.
Airfare to Detroit is still affordable, but will be increasing soon. Do not wait to book your travel if you already know your arrival and departure dates. Any reservation made under 30 days in advance becomes significantly more expensive. Airfare is subsidized and reimbursements will be made to affiliate offices after the event in the amount listed on the airfare subsidies chart above for the number of actual attendees per affiliate, up to six. This number does not include National Board members, either at-large or affiliate board reps. whose travel is reimbursable under the national board travel policy. Please contact your affiliate office directly for airfare reimbursements.
