Dulce Matuz is president of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition which is a plaintiff in the ACLU lawsuit challenging Governor Jan Brewer’s refusal to issue eligible immigrant youth driver’s licenses in Arizona. Similar restrictions in Michigan have also been challenged by the ACLU.
As president of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition, Dulce promotes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.
Dulce immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 and first lived in San Jacinto, California. She and her family later moved to Phoenix, Arizona to be closer their hometown of Hermosillo Sonora. Dulce explains why she's fighting for DREAMers.
