Congresspeople have returned to their districts for a few weeks. They will face the judgement of their constituents.
Six months into the Trump administration, representatives will return to their districts and states across the country for August Recess. They will face the judgement of their constituents over actions take in this new Congress – whether they capitulated to the abuses of power of this administration or fought back.
The Trump administration is trying to dismantle constitutional rights in order to abuse executive power. Many members of congress have rubber stamped these actions. And worse yet, their actions will strip hard-working people with disabilities of their Medicaid. The actions by this Congress have handed that money directly to ICE officers to pay for $50,000 signing bonuses and to private prisons who oversee inhumane conditions in detention cages.
