100+ Years Fighting for Veterans, Servicemembers, and their Families

For more than a century, the ACLU has fought to defend the constitutional rights of veterans, servicemembers, and their families. We challenged the racially segregated draft during World War II, defended the rights of LGBTQ servicemembers, and pursued changes to allow women to serve equally to men in the armed forces. And we’re still fighting for a military that reflects American values.
