Bio

Marissa Gerchick is a Data Science Manager and Algorithmic Justice Specialist on the ACLU’s Technology Team, where her work focuses on the civil rights implications of automated systems, including supporting ACLU’s litigation, advocacy, and public education related to artificial intelligence used in various domains. Marissa also regularly publishes and presents original research on the impacts of algorithmic systems. Previously, Marissa was a Technology Policy Fellow with the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Antitrust Subcommittee and worked as a Data Scientist at the Stanford Computational Policy Lab. Marissa is currently an Affiliate and was previously an Assembly Fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society. She holds a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University.
