ACLU and ACLU of Wisconsin letter to Attorney General Barr calling for special counsel investigation of criminal violations in Kenosha Wisconsin

Document Date: September 15, 2020

The ACLU is calling on the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel to investigate, and, if warranted, prosecute any federal civil rights crimes law enforcement at any level of government commits against protesters, journalists, legal observers, medics and others in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is our third letter calling on the Justice Department to appoint a special counsel to investigate and, if warranted, prosecute civil rights crimes committed by law enforcement against protesters, journalists, legal observers, and others. Our previous letters urged the appointment of a special counsel to investigate law enforcement civil rights violations in Lafayette Square, Washington, DC and Portland, Oregon.
