The ACLU of Illinois joined a letter with other groups from Illinois expressing concern over the Temporary Reauthorization and Study of the Emergency Scheduling of Fentanyl Analogues Act, S. 3201. The bill temporarily extends the Drug Enforcement Administration’s “class-wide” emergency scheduling of fentanyl-related substances, exposing more people to harsh mandatory minimum sentences.
