The ACLU joined coalition partners in this Leadership Conference letter sent June 14, 2017 to the Senate, in anticipation of the chamber taking up healthcare legislation drafted by the Republican majority. The letter urges Senators to oppose the House-passed American Health Care Act or any attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA); slash federal funding and transform Medicaid into a block grant or per capita cap; eliminate the Medicaid expansion; and defund Planned Parenthood health centers.
