Tough Meeting on Abortion Coverage Ban

Ahhh the frustration!

Apparently Congressman Ben Chandler's staff disagrees with the hundreds of activists from across the country who an hour ago chanted "no new restrictions!" I just met with two members of his staff and simply asked, "How can a supposedly pro-choice member of Congress vote for the Stupak-Pitts amendment?" They contend that the studies they have read prove Stupak is merely a continuation of the Hyde Amendment. Just keeping the status quo. When I asked what studies the congressman based his vote on, they wouldn't answer. They assured me they had read studies from both sides of this debate, but appreciated my understanding and view of the ramifications of Stupak.

My final question was whether he would reconsider his vote during conference. I received the wonderful political response: all the information will be reviewed before the congressman makes the decision.

Apparently the congressman will continue to gather information from both sides, while ignoring his constituents and the real world consequences of his vote for millions of women.

Why would you 'want to' choose to abort a child. For other than personal excuses.

American fundamentalists at work, they love to get into your lives and control. THOU SHALT ONLY KILL AND MAIM BROWN PEOPLE! In the name of the church of Evangelical mercenaries paid for by the US tax. They love war, but most of all they love to control. Women are easy targets. They don't care about your babies, what would they do with all the unwanted children? They tried a drop off site, but all the unwanted teenagers where being left there. That's not what they want, they want babies WTF--k

  6. Anonymous Says:

Fundamentalists get a life, go have ten babies of your own and get out of our lives.

Fundamentalists need to get a life, go have ten babies of their own, if they can't,then shut up and get out of our lives, THOU SHALT ONLY KILL MUSLIMS! According to evangelical bible. They love endless wars. They don't want government in their business but they love to get into everyone else's. If they force women to have unwanted children, which is what they are saying, then they need to be responsible for each and everyone of those unborn babies, are they willing to do that? Army of Angels

Can't help but wonder how the same folks who are so concerned about the welfare and well being of children are the same ones who are the least willing to defend the un-born and their right to a life ???
